The substance in Rybelsus is semaglutide, which remains circulating for about 5 weeks after the last dose, so stopping the drug a few days before the wedding does not change anything. For a long time after you set the drug, your body will have the drug in it. Alcohol consumption by people with diabetes (but also any other person) is not recommended. Alcohol inhibits the release of glucose from the liver and therefore its consumption (especially without a snack) can promote hypoglycemia. In the guidelines of the Polish Diabetes Association, we can read that "it is allowed to consume pure ethyl alcohol (calculated) in an amount of not more than 20 g / day by women and 30 g / day by men. Alcohol should not be consumed by people with dyslipidemia (hypertriglyceridemia)." For example: 175 ml of wine (glass) 12% is 21 ml / 16.8 g of alcohol. Please remember that the drug combined with alcohol can greatly aggravate the symptoms of intoxication (hangover). In conclusion - it is not recommended to combine the drug with alcohol, discontinuation of the drug a few days before may not change much (except to reduce the effectiveness of treatment).
