I used for mild depression tincture of St. John's wort, which was not standardized for the content of the biologically active ingredient (HYPERICIN), for 3 weeks. I did not notice any improvement and I am thinking about switching to capsules from St. John's wort. These are already standardized for the presence of this substance. My question is what should be the daily dose of hypericin, I found on the Internet contradictory information giving doses from 400 mg to even 900 mg per day. I kindly ask you to reply.

There are no specific recommendations for the recommended daily dose of hypericins. It is usually recommended to take the preparation according to the manufacturer's recommendations. For drugs containing St. John's wort extract standardized for hypericins, a daily intake of 0.2 mg to even 1.8 mg of hypericins is recommended.
