Hello, For 12 years I have been taking letrox 100, and for half a year I have been prescribed Sylvie 30 tablets ( two-component hormonal contraception). Both preparations are taken in the morning. Hence my question whether I should divide them in time? Letrox usually takes at 6 am and contraception at 8 am. Can letrox lower contraceptive protection? Best regards

It is not necessary to temporarily separate the medications taken, but it is worth mentioning that We take Letrox on an empty stomach, at least half an hour before a meal. Letrox does not reduce the contraceptive effect of Sylvie 30, but estrogen-containing contraceptives and postmenopausal hormone replacement therapy may increase the need for levothyroxine, including Letrox, so you should monitor your thyroid hormone levels and be in contact with your endocrinologist. The dosage you use is correct and should be continued. Taking contraception on an empty stomach does not reduce its effectiveness. To my inquiry I will add that sometimes she works at night and in the morning takes contraception on an empty stomach or does it reduce her protection?
