Can the APTT result drop slightly as a result of taking contraceptive discs and is this a cause for concern? I ask the above question, because about a year ago my APTT score was about 27 (25.5-36.9) while now it is 24.1 (I have been taking contraception for three months). Other indicators such as time and prothrombin index, INR are normal.

Yes, the APTT result may drop slightly when using hormone-containing discs or tablets. The indicator itself does not indicate a disease state, and is only an auxiliary marker during diagnostics in combination with other parameters and symptoms. Shortening the TIME OF APTT may occur as a result of improper sampling or be a signal of hypercoagulability of blood, occurring m.in in thromboembolism. Your results should be consulted with your doctor. I recommend reading the entry: https://www.gdziepolek.pl/artykuly/antykoncepcja-hormonalna In each leaflet of the drug containing hormones, there is information available about the symptoms of thromboembolism, I encourage you to read, for example, the leaflet Ginoring: https://www.gdziepolek.pl/produkty/96195/ginoring-przyrzad/ulotka/244491
