Hello, due to shift work I would like to use melatonin on an ad hoc basis. I bought melatonin 5mg from LEK-AM. However, the leaflet states that estrogens affect the action of melatonin. I have an intrauterine hormonal IUD Mirena on. Could this negatively affect the operation? However, should I take a different dose of melatonin or give it up? thank you in advance for your reply

Intrauterine devices do not contain estrogens (a component of some contraceptives), which can increase the concentration of melatonin and thus intensify its effect and possible side effects. So there are no contraindications to the use of Melatonin LEK-AM at a dose of 5 mg, when using the contraceptive IUD. I am attaching a helpful article: https://www.gdziepolek.pl/artykuly/bezsennosc
