Good morning, if I take axotret from Wednesday and this weekend I go to a wedding, can I drink alcohol? Could I, for example, stop taking the drug for a day and it would be safe?

No, alcohol consumption during isotertinoin therapy (Axotret) is contraindicated. The combination of the drug with alcohol may result in the occurrence of symptoms of the disulfiram reaction, which in a simplified way consists in intensifying the effects of alcohol on the body. There may be: accelerated heartbeat, hot flashes, redness of the face, a tingling sensation of the body, nausea and vomiting. Discontinuation of isotretinoin therapy is also not advisable, since the drug, while persisting in the body for a long time, can also interact with alcohol. In my opinion, the best solution will be not to consume alcohol during the next wedding.
