To @Martamarta:

Based on the presented research results, there is a high probability that we are dealing with a biochemical pregnancy.

The drop in beta-hCG to 7.97 mIU/ml after 48 hours is worrying, because in a normal pregnancy the level of beta-hCG should increase. Progesterone levels also decreased significantly from 10.14 ng/mL to 1.11 ng/mL over 48 hours. Such a drastic decrease in progesterone is often associated with the loss of early pregnancy. In the luteal phase of a normal menstrual cycle, progesterone levels should be higher, usually above 10 ng/ml.

A pale line on a pregnancy test combined with low levels of beta-hCG can also suggest a biochemical pregnancy. Amenorrhea may be related to hormonal disorders caused by biochemical pregnancy.

In this situation, I encourage you to consult a gynaecologist to confirm the diagnosis, monitor the situation and discuss possible treatment options, especially in the context of planning a future pregnancy.

Martamarta (Anonymous, 188.33.248.) 38 days ago

Pale line on the pregnancy test, 15 days after ovulation beta 22.24mIU/ml progesterone 10.14ng/ml, after 48h decrease: beta 7.97mIU/ml progesterone 1.11ng/ml. Amenorrhea... Is it a biochemical pregnancy? I will add that on the 8th day after ovulation, progesterone at the level of 6.91ng/ml. Is its level not too low?

To @Gosia:

Given the presented results of beta hCG studies, there is reason for caution and further observation.

In the first trimester of pregnancy, plasma levels of the hormone beta hCG should double on average every 48-72 hours. The increase from 125.30 mIU/mL to 315.56 mIU/mL in 8 days is slower than expected. With normal pregnancy development, the level should be much higher after 8 days.

A slower increase in beta hCG levels may indicate a risk of miscarriage, the possibility of an ectopic pregnancy, or abnormal pregnancy development. In this situation, it is necessary to consult a gynecologist. An ultrasound examination may be indicated to assess the development of the pregnancy.

It should be remembered that the beta hCG value alone is not the only indicator of normal pregnancy development. It is important to monitor the growth dynamics of the hormone and to perform imaging tests.

Stress has no effect on beta-hCG levels.

Hello, please tell me, my husband and I are planning a child, we went to the doctor, everything seems to turn out, on the 6th day after ovulation I did a test, it turned out to be positive, the second strip was easily colored. After some time, I repeated the test, everything showed the same, but I go to work, where it is not easy physical labor .. and all day long on my feet, I started to hurt from the bottom .. I came and repeated the test, it was positive .. But I was a little worried and cried .. I did a test early but already electronic, it showed 1-2 weeks of pregnancy .. After 2 hours, I did a routine test, it showed a barely noticeable second strip. Question: Can hCG levels drop due to stress?

Angelika Talar-Śpionek Pharmacist, Editor

It would be best to repeat the test and see if the beta HCG level continues to drop or maybe rise.
The result should be consulted with a doctor. If the result decreases - it may mean a miscarriage. An increase in beta HCG levels can mean pregnancy.

Hello. Wyn8k beta 19.4 after 72 hrs 7.7 what does it mean, is it a miscarriage?

Anna Lewandowska Pharmacist, Editor

By @Karina_m.r.:

A drop in beta-hCG levels between the two tests does not necessarily mean a miscarriage, but it can be a sign of abnormal pregnancy development.

Typically, in a normally developing pregnancy, beta-hCG levels should double every 48-72 hours. A decrease in the level instead of an increase may signal:
* A pregnancy at risk (e.g. bleeding that has not yet occurred)

* Twin pregnancy (one of the embryos has stopped developing)

* Abnormal location of pregnancy (e.g. extrauterine pregnancy)

A decrease in beta-hCG requires further observation, but does not determine pregnancy failure. With no bleeding or other symptoms, there is hope that the result will increase again and the pregnancy will develop normally. Sometimes the hormone levels can drop and then rise again and the pregnancy will develop properly.

Therefore, it is important to regularly monitor beta-hCG levels and perform an ultrasound to assess the development of the embryo. If the level increases in subsequent tests and the ultrasound confirms the normal development of the pregnancy, there is no reason to worry.

Hello. I have a question, if the beta-hCG result 3 days ago was 1005.1 mIU/ml and today's test showed 598.9 mIU/ml (no bleeding indicating a possible miscarriage), is there any reason to panic? Is there a chance that the result will increase again and the pregnancy proceeds correctly and an embryo will appear?

The test should be repeated and the results discussed with the gynecologist.

To @Oluska:

If you're missing your period and your pregnancy tests are negative, there could be several reasons for this. Here are some possibilities:

Hormonal abnormalities: Various factors, such as stress, illness, weight changes, or hormonal imbalances, can affect the regularity of the menstrual cycle.

Test error: While pregnancy tests are quite effective, errors can sometimes occur. Please ensure that the test is performed in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions.

In any case, if menstruation does not come and pregnancy tests are negative, it is advisable to consult a doctor to determine the cause of the delay and receive appropriate advice and treatment. If you do not have the opportunity to consult your doctor, you can use the teleconsultation here:

To @Pola:

You can make sure that you have done the test according to the instructions given by the manufacturer. If the test was done and read correctly, then you can repeat the beta-hCG from your blood.

Good morning, I have a question, I did a pregnancy test yesterday. 2 days before the due date of menstruation, a delicate line appeared. Today I did betaHCG result <0.20 negatywny.

Does a score of 0.592 mean pregnancy? If I always go fo the same labo and it came out to me 0.05 it means that the pregnancy is j can develop. ?

To @Igas: This is not an increment - it is within the limit of the measurement error.

Igas (Anonymous, 31.61.251.) 1 year ago

And is it known what may result from such an increase in this hormone?

Klaudia Ćwiąkała Pharmacist, Editor

To @Igas: No, this is not a cause for concern - such results do not mean pregnancy.

If 3 beta hcg showed the result

Olga Sierpniowska Pharmacist, Editor

To @Agnieszka: the result has not increased, it is still negative, and the slight difference between one and the other test does not prove anything. In the first trimester of pregnancy, the concentration in U doubles every 48-72 hours. If you were pregnant, 50 days after intercourse you would be at the end of the first trimester, and the level of chorionic gonadotropin could reach even over 280,000 mlU / ml.

Agnieszka (Anonymous, 95.160.128.) 2 years ago

I wonder if the pills certainly do not affect the result of this study, I am very stressed, because I know that the research showed the lack of pregnancy, but why the result has increased.

Agnieszka (Anonymous, 95.160.128.) 2 years ago

And if after 36 days from the ratio the HCG Beta result is 0.02 and after 50 days from the ratio the result is 0.12, what does this mean? Why did the result increase?

Angelika Talar-Śpionek Pharmacist, Editor

TO @Agnieszka: The use of birth control pills, or eating, drinking, physical activity, etc., do not falsify the result of a pregnancy test from blood or urine. If the result of the home test after 50 days after intercourse is negative - it means that you are not pregnant. The same applies to the blood pregnancy test - such a test is even more accurate than the urine test, and the additional factors I mentioned above do not affect its result.

Agnieszka (Anonymous, 95.160.128.) 2 years ago

I am 50 days from intercourse I had 2 withdrawal bleedings, but they differed from each other so I wanted to confirm if I am definitely not pregnant, even when I take an active tablet anti,I drink a little water and go for a test and just about these factors, where I can be pregnant and beta is negative

Agnieszka (Anonymous, 95.160.128.) 2 years ago

And a false negative result from the blood of the HCG Beta (i.e. the result will be negative and the patient will be pregnant) can cause, for example: anti tablets, i.e. drinking a small amount of water in the morning and going to the test, alcohol the day before, physical exertion, fatty food, whatever?

Olga Sierpniowska Pharmacist, Editor

A blood or urine pregnancy test may indicate a false positive result when chorionic gonadotropin is in the patient's body for a reason other than the current pregnancy: just after childbirth, miscarriage or abortion, in connection with the intake of fertility support drugs containing gonadotropin in the composition and with a rare type of ovarian cyst producing this hormone. Testing for the level of chorionic gonadotropin from blood in the laboratory does not require special preparation. When testing from urine using a home test, follow the recommendations of the test manufacturer.
