Hello, in the case of fever in a two-year-old child, which after the administration of ibuprofen after 5 hours is again high, i.e. 38.6 degrees, can paracetamol and ibuprofen be alternated every 4 hours? Should I wait another 3 hours to re-administer ibuprofen?

In case of high fever and malaise of the child, you can alternate drugs with ibuprofen, e.g. - Ibufen: https://www.gdziepolek.pl/produkty/37059/ibufen-dla-dzieci-forte-o-smaku-malinowym-zawiesina/apteki - Nurofen: https://www.gdziepolek.pl/produkty/89268/nurofen-dla-dzieci-forte-o-smaku-truskawkowym-zawiesina/apteki?pvid=212996#internetowe - Ibum: https://www.gdziepolek.pl/produkty/37074/ibum-forte-o-smaku-malinowym-zawiesina/aptek) and paracetamol, e.g. - Panadol: https://www.gdziepolek.pl/produkty/59171/panadol-dla-dzieci-zawiesina/apteki, - Pedicetamol https://www.gdziepolek.pl/produkty/60061/pedicetamol-plyn/apteki? - Apap for children Forte: https://www.gdziepolek.pl/produkty/93835/apap-dla-dzieci-forte-zawiesina/apteki The scheme should be as follows, for example: - 20:00 ibuprofen - 00:00 paracetamol (of course, there is no need to wake the baby if the fever does not interfere with sleep) - 4:00 ibuprofen - 8:00 paracetamol - 12:00 ibuprofen, etc. Please remember that effective reduction of fever is achieved when drugs are administered according to body weight, not the age of the child. It happens that the administered dose of the drug is too small - it corresponds to the age of the child, but not to body weight.
