Is it ovulation and can pregnancy already be ruled out?

Hello on the 3rd day of the period I had intercourse unfortunately contraception failed and after 24 hours of intercourse I took ellaone. My menstruation was last july 19 and the one I got before intercourse on August 8 I do not know if it is possible that irregular menstruation reduces the likelihood of pregnancy? Today I have white/transparent mucus and it leaves yellow spots on my panties. Is it ovulation and can pregnancies be excluded?

The EllaOne tablet is effective in preventing pregnancy in emergency situations, but it is not a 100% sure method. It works by blocking or delaying ovulation. However, it is not effective if ovulation has already occurred. Solely on the basis of vaginal mucus, it is difficult to conclude about whether you are ovulating, and it is also impossible to answer unequivocally about pregnancy. As I mentioned, EllaOne blocks or delays it, and here this effect would not be visible, since the last menstruation began on August 8. Generally, a menstrual cycle is considered regular and normal if it lasts 28 days (plus/minus 5 days) and the number of days of the cycle is about the same in subsequent cycles. The irregularity of the cycle may make it difficult to get pregnant, but it does not exclude it. If the last bleeding took place on August 8, and you had sex in 3 days of bleeding, then I conclude that intercourse took place on August 10-11. So you did a blood test just five days after intercourse - in my opinion, it may be too early. From the fertilization of the egg to the implantation of the embryo, that is, its implantation in the uterine cavity, several days pass (most often it is reported that it is 6-7 days). It is only at this point that structures that produce chorionic gonadotropin begin to form, the level of which is checked by pregnancy tests. It can be estimated that the concentration of hCG in the blood is detectable 48 hours after implantation, which gives additional time in which the test may not show pregnancy, despite its existence. Although the blood test is sensitive, given the fact that the exact moment of ovulation is difficult to grasp, and the dates from the "calendar" are not always reliable, it is worth waiting at least until the 10th day after intercourse with the test. It is assumed that for a pregnant woman in the first weeks of pregnancy, the result of the beta-hCG hormone level determination should be more than 5 mIU/ ml. The standard may vary from laboratory to laboratory and it is best to check what exactly is written on the result that you received. In a properly developing pregnancy, beta-hCG levels double on average every 48 hours and increase until the 9-12th week of pregnancy. At a later stage of pregnancy, it drops to 10-20% of the maximum value. It seems to me that in your case the blood or urine test will have to be repeated.
