Good morning. I take Euthyrox N( dose 37.5) and for 2 months Symbicort 80 + 4.5 dose 1 inhalation x 2. Since taking Symbicort, my TSH scores have deteriorated by 1.4 and above. Can Symbicort cause worse absorption of Euthoryx? In the leaflet is about the interaction with levothyroxine. If so, which medication can be suggested to the doctor instead of Symbicort, which does not interact with Euthoryx?

I think that in such a situation it is the attending physician who should suggest you to use a different treatment. Before each introduction of new medicines, the doctor should be informed about all the preparations used in order to avoid interactions (e.g. increased risk of side effects or decreased effectiveness of treatment). Both active substances in Symbicort may interact with Euthyrox. The effect may be a weakening of the action of Euthyrox.
