Complex over-the-counter preparations have more side effects and interactions, and perhaps they are used unnecessarily (e.g. in a complex preparation there is pseudoephedrine, which has a clearing effect on the sinuses, and the patient has only fever and cough, or in another there is an ingredient with antitussive effect, and the patient does not have a cough), so I recommend one-component preparations in combination with other one-component preparations, e.g. nasal spray, if there is a runny nose, paracetamol, ibuprofen or aspirin for fever and pain, throat lozenges - depending on the ailment. Due to the possible side effects of opipramol on the heart, it is better to avoid drugs containing pseudoephedrine and phenlephrine (they are not strictly contraindicated).
