Please note that any modifications to the therapy should be made after consultation with the attending physician familiar with your state of health in detail. The active substance in Espumisan is simethicone, a silicon compound. Simethicone is a surfactant, devoid of pharmacological activity, which reduces the surface tension of gas bubbles in the gastrointestinal tract. Simethicone is not absorbed and acts only in the lumen of the gastrointestinal tract.
