Has such a Needle Injection of Depo-Provera been administered correctly?

I was given an injection of depo prover into the muscular butt of needle 5 by a nurse and I read that it needs to be given very deep into the muscle. Has such a needle injection been given correctly?

Depo-Provera is a suspension for injection that must be administered intramuscularly. The manufacturer of the drug does not provide information on what needle to give it. The choice of needle length for a specific application is on the side of the person performing the injection. To the best of my knowledge, in the case of an intramuscular injection, the site of administration should be guided, but also the anatomy of the patient. In a person with more body fat, a longer needle will be necessary to reach the muscle. Sometimes the staff also takes into account the patient's comfort - thicker and longer needles can be associated with greater soreness. The size of the needle you gave ("5") is not correct, so it is difficult to assess what kind of needle exactly you are talking about and whether it was well chosen. In case of doubt, it would be best to contact the person who performed the injection directly. The needles are available in different sizes and lengths. To the best of my knowledge, needles with a diameter of 0.8–0.9 mm, sometimes 0.7 mm, are most often used for intramuscular injections. The larger the cross-section ("thickness") of the needle, the longer it is.
