A proton pump inhibitor should be taken in the morning, 1 hour before breakfast. Matronidazole can be taken regardless of meals - I suggest taking it after breakfast (using drugs after a meal reduces their irritating effect on the stomach). I attach the leaflet of the drug: https://www.gdziepolek.pl/produkty/48758/metronidazol-polpharma-tabletki/ulotka/241222
