How would inflammation manifest itself at the implant site?

To @Ola: Yes, e.g. one that would lead to a break in the structure of the implant or chronic inflammation at the implant site. Abrasions, injuries, cuts to the skin do not affect the effectiveness of the implant.

I understand, so there would have to be serious damage to the skin for it to affect the effectiveness? I have dry hands and checking if the implant is in place I slightly scratched this place.

No, a slight scratch of the skin in the place where the contraceptive implant is located does not affect its effectiveness. I attach a link to a helpful post: https://www.gdziepolek.pl/kategorie/implanty-antykoncepcyjne
