Milk thistle extract can potentially inhibit the activity of isoenzymes responsible for metabolism, m.in antidepressants and thus lead to an increase in their concentration in the body and the opposite to the intended effect, i.e. greater harm to the liver. This effect has not been clearly confirmed in clinical trials and would require the use of higher doses of milk thistle, but unless it is necessary / indicated by the doctor, I would not recommend the independent use of milk thistle preparations during antidepressant treatment.
