Good morning, I had to switch from contraceptive discs to pills. Would it be possible to recommend tablets with a similar composition to discs? 11.0 mg etonogestrel and 3.474 mg ethinyl estradiol

It is difficult to compare the compositions of oral drugs and vaginal discs in terms of doses due to the different absorption of the active substance. In addition, various hormone derivatives are used in specific types of drug forms — others in the vaginal form, and others in tablets. The disc you use contains two components: ethinylestradiol and etonogestrel. The first ingredient is commonly found in two-component contraceptive pills, while the second ingredient should be sought under the name desogestrel. Desogestrel is converted to etonogestrel after oral administration. Such a transformation is not necessary after vaginal administration, therefore a "ready" etonogestrel is present in the vaginal discs. Contraceptive pills that contain the substances listed above are, for example: Marvelon: https://www.gdziepolek.pl/produkty/46482/marvelon-tabletki/apteki Mercilon: https://www.gdziepolek.pl/produkty/48367/mercilon-tabletki/apteki Ovulastan: https://www.gdziepolek.pl/produkty/58332/ovulastan-tabletki/apteki Regulon: https://www.gdziepolek.pl/produkty/66459/regulon-tabletki-powlekane/apteki The drugs listed above differ in the dosages of individual components. It is up to the doctor to decide which dose he will choose in your case. I will also add that the doctor may decide to completely change the hormone derivatives.
