Formic acid is too radical an effect on the rebuilding nail plate. This substance is highly corrosive, causes softening and loosening of keratinized epidermis or nail plate, thus facilitating its exfoliation. It will not accelerate or facilitate the restoration of the nail plate, on the contrary, it will only worsen its condition. In this case, a better option will be the reconstruction of the nail carried out by a podiatrist. All substances intended for nail restoration have antifungal and bacteriostatic properties to protect the patient from infections. They also have an anti-inflammatory effect.
