Is it safe to give Metmin to a 2-year-old child?

Hello. Is 2 times a day, after one snap for a two-year-old not too much? The drug was prescribed by an ENT specialist. Already on the third day I hesitate, whether to start using it or not. Please reply.

The safety and efficacy of Metmin nasal spray in children below 3 years of age have not been established. It is not recommended to use the drug in younger children due to the lack of experience with the use of the preparation in this age group. However, this does not immediately mean that the doctor was mistaken. In some situations, doctors prescribe medication to children despite age-related limitations, if their knowledge and experience show that doing so will be beneficial to the patient. This is the conduct of the so-called off-label therapy: https://www.gdziepolek.pl/artykuly/leczenie-off-label-poza-wskazaniami, however, the doctor should explain in such a situation why he orders such therapy, what effects he expects and what are the possible risks. If you have any doubts about the ordered therapy, it is best to contact your doctor directly.
