Allergic reaction to local anesthetics - how to deal with?

Hello, yesterday I was supposed to have permanent makeup done on my eyebrows. After the anesthesia, I felt that something was happening to my body. My arms, legs and all of me were numb. I suddenly felt the need to go to the toilet, and my heart was pounding like crazy. Of course, we stopped the procedure, the anesthesia was washed off and after a while I returned to normal. What could have happened?

The symptoms you mention, although not typical symptoms of a strong allergic reaction, may indicate that you are allergic to any of the components of the anesthetic. If in the future you want to undergo a procedure requiring this type of anesthesia again, bearing in mind the experience described, I recommend performing the procedure in a place that among its staff has people with medical education, doctors or nurses, who in the event of anaphylactic shock, will be able to provide quick help by administering the appropriate drug. More about local anesthetics can be read in the text: https://www.gdziepolek.pl/artykuly/srodki-do-znieczulenia-miejscowego
