Determination of the circulating antigen allows you to detect infection with the fungus Candida albicans. As part of candidiasis, various disease conditions are distinguished, such as: cutaneous candidiasis, mucocutaneous, gastrointestinal tract, respiratory tract, genitourinary tract (e.g. vaginal candidiasis) and candidiasis of various internal organs. Both of the drugs mentioned in the question: Fluconazole and Nystatin will be effective for the treatment of candidiasis. Sometimes both drugs are used simultaneously to increase the effectiveness of therapy. The final decision regarding the therapy belongs to the attending physician, who will adjust the treatment according to your current clinical condition.
