Alfadiol is a prescription drug that contains 0.001 mg of alfacalcidol (a precursor of the active metabolite of vitamin D3) - a drug with a strong effect, which in the body is converted to the active metabolite - calcitriol and intensifies the process of incorporation of calcium into the structure of bone tissue. In contrast, Vigantoletten 1000 is an over-the-counter drug that contains 0.025 mg of cholecalciferol (vitamin D3), which is also metabolized and converted to calcitriol, but is less and worse absorbed. These drugs are not substitutes and should not be used interchangeably.
