Yes, you can buy the drug at a pharmacy with a prescription from your doctor. The legitimacy of the therapy is decided by the doctor.

The conditional marketing authorisation for Paxlovid was changed to a full marketing authorisation on 24 February 2023. Currently, this drug can be purchased with a prescription at the pharmacy. Paxlovid is only available on an outpatient basis, it is not a medicine that can be purchased at a pharmacy with a prescription. Outpatient treatment consists in the fact that you do not need to be in a hospital or other place of therapy around the clock. Theoretically, Paxlovid can be obtained in a specialist clinic, e.g. in a hospital clinic for infectious diseases or in a POZ clinic. Nevertheless, it is not yet widely available in Poland. Primary Care Clinics, on the other hand, have another cure for COVID-19. The preparation is available under the name Lagevrio.
