Good morning, is it possible to go out in the sun on hot days with the antibiotic Ospen 750? Or is it better to avoid the sun?

When sotosing the antibiotic Ospen, it is better to avoid the sun. Some antibiotics can cause a phototoxic reaction, i.e. increased sensitivity of cells to solar radiation. The group of antibiotics that are characterized by a high risk of this reaction include, m.in, tetracyclines (e.g. tetracycline, doxycycline), fluoroquinolones (e.g. ciprofloxacin, ofloxacin, levofloxacin) and sulfonamides. Ospen is a drug containing benzatin-lecithinated benzatinin, i.e. an antibiotic belonging to the group of penicillins, which are not burdened with a high risk of phototoxicity. Nevertheless, I would recommend avoiding the sun during antibiotic therapy, and in case of short exposure to the sun, apply filters with high UV protection to prevent the occurrence of skin reactions of photosensitivity.
