Good morning, I understand that the child was examined for different panels of allergens. Sometimes it happens that the obtained result is a false negative result, it may be caused by the sensitivity of the method or the lack of a given allergen in a specific panel. Hence, a negative result does not mean that the son is not allergic to anything. It is worth noting at what time the symptoms that you describe appear, have a greater intensity. Good morning, Momester contains mometasone furoate, a substance classified as glucocorticosteroids. With allergic rhinitis, this is a first-line drug. In order for the drug to develop its full effect, it should be used for two weeks, although the symptoms usually disappear after using 1-2 doses. With this in mind, please do not use the medicine only when there is nasal discharge, but continuously, every day. As for the possibility of addiction, in this case there is no such threat. In studies on patients with year-round rhinitis, despite the use of the drug for 12 months, no changes in the mucous membrane were detected. However, I pay attention to the correct application of the aerosol, i.e. please do not direct the applicator to the nasal septum. Such administration will reduce the likelihood of the most commonly reported side effects, i.e. headaches and nosebleeds. Xyzal contains in its composition levocetirizine, a drug from the group of the latest antiallergic drugs. The combination of this drug with the topical drug Momester is safe, we are even talking about supplementing the action. The doses of both drugs are suitable for the age of the child. Please remember that pollen is not the only cause of allergies. It is worth checking what exactly sensitizes your son. However, I would like to make sure that you do not do allergy tests while taking Xyzal and two weeks after you stop using it, as this may lead to falsification of the results.
