Good morning, Amoksiklav is a drug containing amoxicillin (beta-lactam antibiotic) and clavulanic acid. The dosage regimen of this antibiotic varies depending on the bacterial infection present as well as body weight. Usually, the therapy lasts 7 days, but based on the information provided by you, I can not determine it. Please continue to administer the antibiotic over the weekend and consult your pediatrician on Monday about the length of therapy. For my part, I pay attention to the appropriate administration of Amoksiklav, i.e. at the beginning of a meal, which will increase the effectiveness of therapy and reduce possible side effects from the gastrointestinal tract. Additional administration of the probiotic between doses of Amoksiklav (please keep a minimum of 2 hours break between the probiotic containing bacteria and the antibiotic) and for 14 days after the end of antibiotic treatment will protect the child from possible diarrhea.
