How and when to take Macromax? How long can a cough last?

Good morning, I have prescribed Macromax 3 tablets for bronchitis. I have to take three days. I did not read that I have to take on the empty stomach and today I took the first tablet right after the meal. Will this greatly reduce its effect, even if I take the remaining tablets correctly? I get tired of coughing a lot, after how many days is there usually an improvement?
