Is it possible to try for a child by taking steroids?

Hi for a month I have been using Metypred for the first 2 weeks it was 16 mg, and now from 2 weeks 4 mg. We want to try to have a child with my husband. My question is whether we have to wait?

The decision whether it is safe to try for a child at this time should be made by the attending physician, who knows your medical history and current state of health. As regards the safety of methylprednisolone contained in Metypred during pregnancy, its use in pregnant women should be avoided if possible. Individual reports speak of a delay in fetal development and narrowing of the arterial duct in fetuses as a consequence of the use of glucocorticosteroids (e.g. Metypred) during pregnancy. At the same time, it is not determined how long after the end of glucocorticosteroid therapy, one should wait before starting to try. Usually, if the patient's state of health allows it, and in the near future it is not planned to repeat the therapy, there are no contraindications to start efforts immediately after the end of treatment. However, this should be decided by the attending physician. You can read more about steroids in the text: https://www.gdziepolek.pl/artykuly/czy-sterydy-sa-bezpieczne
