Abdominal pain can be a non-specific symptom of diseases of the abdominal organs and organs located outside it. Pain is an important, often biologically desirable symptom. In the intention of Nature, pain prompts the search for causes, which allows to avoid the stimuli that cause it or to implement treatment of the underlying disease. The most common causes of abdominal pain include inflammatory diseases and ulcers of the mucous membrane (e.g. gastric and duodenal ulcers). Another group are diseases leading to obstruction of the intestines or bile or pancreatic ducts. Hemorrhoids (varicose veins of the anus) cannot be excluded either. This is a disease that consists in the expansion of the veins of the lower part of the rectum and the formation of tumors. One of the first signs of the disease is itching of the anus and its surroundings. Over time, there is a feeling of incomplete bowel movement, which prompts a stronger push. Another symptom is slight bleeding, most often during defecation (trace on toilet paper). If the abdominal pain eases after the departure of gases or passing stool, then most likely in its genesis there is increased pressure in the colon. This is the case in inflammation or impaired intestinal patency, but also in functional disorders. A significant increase in pain, its chronicity or the occurrence of other disturbing symptoms should prompt you to turn to a doctor, sometimes even in acute mode, to the emergency room in the hospital.
