What is the effectiveness of Evra contraceptive patches?
Good morning, On May 31 I got menstruation, on June 1 I applied the evra patch, and on June 3 I had sex with my partner without protection and with injection inside. Is there any chance of getting pregnant? After applying the patch, the period was shorter, less abundant. To this day, there are sore breasts, and slight nausea without vomiting. Menstruates every 28 days. And what are the effectiveness of the patches, starting from the first one? Thank you, best regards

If you have applied the Evra patch within the first 24 hours of menstrual bleeding, you are fully protected against pregnancy and there is no risk of pregnancy: https://www.gdziepolek.pl/produkty/28646/evra-system-transdermalny/ulotka/107008 The effectiveness of the contraceptive patches used is very high and amounts to 0.2-0.8 according to the Pearl Index. The Pearl Index indicates how many women out of 100 will become pregnant in a year when using a given method of contraception. Applying the patch can change the menstrual bleeding profile. Some patients may experience breast pain and nausea. These are common side effects (may affect more than 1 in 10 people). I encourage you to report side effects of the preparation. Reporting side effects allows you to increase control over medicines available on the market.
