Good morning. I take pregabalin at a dose of 450 mg per day, but under the influence of various stresses, this dose has already partially lost its effect. Therefore, to improve my resistance to stress, I would like to start using a small dose of ashwaghandy 200 mg standardized to 5% withanolides 10 mg. Can I try to take it together with pregabalin and see how I feel. Can and possibly what side effects can occur?

So far, no interaction has been found in studies between pregabalin and ashwagandha, which could negatively affect the efficacy and safety of both substances. Both of these ingredients can cause, m.in, drowsiness (their combined use may intensify), and pregabalin may cause, for example, nosebleeds, which in combination with ginkgo may increase the risk of prolonged bleeding. For this reason, if it is not necessary, it is recommended to avoid combining them. If you really want to include a preparation with ashwagandha in the treatment, I encourage you to consult your doctor.
