Yes, you can remove the Kyleena system on any day of the cycle, however, if you are not planning a pregnancy, it is recommended that you remove the system within 7 days of starting your period (if you have regular menstruation). If the system is removed at another point in the cycle and the patient has had sexual intercourse within the previous week, there is a risk of becoming pregnant.
