Ladies and Gentlemen, is the date of Wegova's appearance in Polish pharmacies known at least approximately? The EMA approved the drug in January, half a year has passed and the drug is still missing. Thank you in advance for your reply.

Novo Nordisk replied that it makes every effort to ensure that overweight and obese patients gain access to the drug in Poland as soon as possible. Currently, a drug registered and available for the treatment of overweight and obesity in adults and adolescents aged 12-17 years is Saxenda (liraglutide 3.0 mg)."

The marketing authorisation of a medicine at European level is a gateway for a manufacturer who may or may not introduce his product into one, several or more markets. Such authorisation does not therefore mean that the marketing authorisation holder will immediately start selling the medicine in every country of the Community. It is possible not only to delay, but also to choose specific markets.
