When to put Impanon NXT when switching from oral hormonal contraception?
Good morning, I will be changing the Vibin contraceptive pills to the Implanon NXT implant. If the implant will be placed on the 3rd day of placebo (1st and 2nd day fall on the weekend), will the protection be after a few days from the date of insertion or immediately?

According to the Summary of Product Characteristics, Implanon NXT should be taken the day following the last contraceptive pill, no later than the day following the last placebo tablet. For the first 7 days after the implant, additional contraceptive protection can be used, e.g. a condom.
