Should I double my magnesium dose if I have very severe leg cramps?

I took Furagin for 8 days. I was tormented (and still tired) by terrible leg cramps at night. I finished 4 days ago. How much longer? I take magnesium from B6. Maybe double the dose? I had cramps frequent and without Furagin (I have osteoporotic broken vertebrae) but now my nights are suffering. Does anyone know how much longer I can suffer these cramps?

Baths in magnesium chloride solution have an adjunctive effect in the case of cramps, but are not a direct therapeutic agent. Magnesium chloride is a magnesium salt often used to relieve joint pain and speed up muscle recovery. It is a mineral compound that regulates many biochemical processes in the body, including the production of ATP (an energy carrier) and protein synthesis. Magnesium chloride baths can help to recover magnesium deficiencies, as well as soothe skin irritations.

However, there is no direct proof that magnesium chloride baths are effective in treating cramps.

In patients taking furazidine, muscle spasms or muscle pain have been observed at an unknown frequency. If the ailments are related to the drug used, then they should disappear after its discontinuation. The lady, however, had frequent contractions before. According to the results of a large review of studies on the effect of magnesium on skeletal muscle contractions, supplementation of this element is unlikely to bring positive effects. Therefore, I do not see any justification for taking an increased amount of it without appropriate tests (such as, for example, an ionogram, i.e. testing the level of electrolytes in the blood). Perhaps it is worth trying other methods described in detail in our study: https://www.gdziepolek.pl/artykuly/skurcze-nog-jak-radzic-sobie-ze-skurczami-lydek I also attach materials on side effects: https://www.gdziepolek.pl/artykuly/jak-i-dlaczego-zglaszac-dzialania-niepozadane https://www.gdziepolek.pl/artykuly/czy-bac-sie-dzialan-niepozadanych-lekow and magnesium supplementation: https://www.gdziepolek.pl/artykuly/magnez-co-ma-do-niego-kawa-stres-i-wit-b6
