I take elicea 1.5 years. 10 mg. When I tried to reduce the dose to 5 mg, I began to feel worse, heart palpitations, feeling stressed, tearfulness, insomnia. Again I went back to 10 mg and it's ok but how long can you take them. Please suggest.

The length of use of Elicea varies depending on the disease entity diagnosed. The time you use the drug (1.5 years) is a relatively long period in terms of the total duration of therapy. Therefore, it would be useful to consult a doctor to consider a possible withdrawal of the drug. In addition, it should be remembered that medications such as Elicea should not be discontinued on their own, but only under the supervision of a doctor, due to the risk of developing increased symptoms resulting from a sudden cessation of taking the drug. The symptoms mentioned, i.e. heart palpitations, tearfulness or insomnia, may have resulted from this reason. To reduce them as much as possible, the doses should be gradually reduced as directed by the doctor, perhaps by a smaller difference than from 10 mg to 5 mg.
