Hello. I have a recommendation from my doctor to use nasonex for 3 months and I would like to know if I will do any harm. When applying the steroid to the nose, unfortunately, part is swallowed (despite the fact that the flowing secretion that steroid I try to cough up and spit out and after applying it I do not tilt my head back and do not lie down) everything still flows down from the back of the throat and despite my efforts I swallow some of it.

Nasonex is a nasal spray containing a corticosteroid - Mometasone Furonate. It is a glucocorticosteroid for topical use, showing a local anti-inflammatory effect. In the recommended doses, it does not have a systemic effect, so its swallowing during application will not harm you in any way. Even after prolonged use (over 12 months) of Nasonex, no signs of nasal atrophy were found. In addition, Mometasone has the ability to restore a similar to normal histological structure of the nasal mucosa. I enclose a detailed description of the preparation you are asking about: https://www.gdziepolek.pl/produkty/51631/nasonex-aerozol/ulotka/192406 I enclose additional information that may be helpful: https://www.gdziepolek.pl/artykuly/jak-stosowac-krople-do-nosa https://www.gdziepolek.pl/artykuly/czy-sterydy-sa-bezpieczne
