Delay in sticking a new patch - what to do?

If I am late with the replacement of the patch, will it reduce its effectiveness? I was supposed to replace the patch on Monday, but I didn't do it because I had to run to work, when I came back I forgot to do it, I changed it to a new one only on Tuesday evening, will it have any negative effect on the therapy and has the cycle changed now? I have to replace it as before on Mondays, has it shifted to Tuesday?

For @Merida: If you applied the patch within 48 hours of the planned date of changing the patch, and during the 7 days preceding the first day of being late, the patch was used correctly, it is not necessary to use an additional method of contraception, protection against pregnancy remains preserved. Another patch should be glued on Monday, as before.

To @Merida: To answer the question asked, you need information on which week of the patch cycle the event occurred.

This event occurred after a year and a half of regular use of Evra patches.

The effects of delaying the application of the contraceptive patch and the course of action vary depending on which week the event occurred. Please clarify the information.
