Cardiovascular adverse reactions reported with Xifaxan include palpitations. This side effect is observed uncommonly, i.e. less frequently than in 1 patient in 100, but more often than in 1 in 1000. Palpitations, although it is an unpleasant sensation, are relatively rarely dangerous to health. Without consulting a doctor, treatment should not be stopped. I encourage you to regularly measure your blood pressure and heart rate and record the result of the measurements. If the problem persists, you should go to the doctor, presenting the results of measurements and informing him about the ailments.
