Duloxetine is a preparation belonging to the group of serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs) and norepinephrine (SNRIs), fluoxetine is a serotonin reuptake inhibitor. There is an interaction between the preparations. These are drugs whose mechanism of action consisting in inhibition of serotonin reuptake coincides. The use of both drugs can lead to a rare so-called serotonin syndrome, caused by an excess of serotonin in the body. This is a statistically probable side effect that may or may not occur. Both fluoxetine and duloxetine are medications prescribed by a doctor. Remember to always notify each specialist about all the preparations used, and that each therapy is tailored to a particular patient.
