Does taking 60 mg of isotretinoin per kg of body weight provide long-term treatment effects?

Is the total value of the drug taken 60mg per kg of body weight, is it possible that the treatment will persist?

There are several other ways to treat acne, such as the use of oral antibiotics or topical treatment with gels or creams, e.g. with retinoids, benzoyl peroxide, azelaic acid. In some cases, properly selected care may be sufficient.

Good morning I am in the same situation. However, my dermatologist claims that izotek is already the "final last resort", so what to understand as "another method of treatment"? I am very afraid of the recurrence of the disease.

In such a situation, the decision belongs to the dermatologist conducting the treatment. Unfortunately, even if triglyceride levels drop after treatment, resuming treatment is likely to result in a resurgence of triglycerides and the need to discontinue treatment again. For this reason, I think the dermatologist will consider another method of treatment.

Good morning, what if the treatment was completed by too high triglyceride sweating? If triglycerides fall, can treatment be resumed? If so, do we include the dose of isotretinoin taken in the previously taken and add up the total dose taken before and after the break (it is about the dose per kg of body weight), or should we count the amount of substance per kg of body weight from the post?

The optimal cumulative dose of isotretinoin (the active ingredient of Izotek), providing long-lasting effects, is considered to be 120-150 mg of the drug per kg of the patient's body weight. The effectiveness of such treatment is estimated at 70–89%. According to these assumptions, taking 60mg of the drug / kg of body weight does not provide long-term and beneficial effects.
