Hello. Daughter (6 years) takes Xyzal syrup. Is it possible that after this syrup in her urine there are microalbumins? Syrup takes because it has an enlarged third almond. The rest of the results from urine and blood are approx.

Probably it is about microalbuminuria (a small amount of protein in the urine - small-molecule albumin). Levocetirizine (the active ingredient in Xyzal) and its metabolites are mainly excreted in the urine, but I cannot find information that the product negatively affects the kidneys. According to the documentation of the drug, painful or difficult urination, the inability to completely empty the bladder, were noted with an unknown frequency. If you find that your kidneys are not working properly, a dose adjustment of Xyzal may be recommended. The reasons for the presence of protein in the urine can be different and it is not always associated with the disease state, a small amount of protein is also acceptable (normoalbuminuria) - with the result for interpretation please go to the pediatrician.
