Is numbness in the hand a side effect of using Pram? Should I go to my doctor and stop taking the medicine?

Good morning. She has been using Pram 20 mg (Citalopramum) for a month. After a few days, there was numbness of the skin from the left hand to the elbow and does not go away so far. Can numbness be a side effect of using the drug? Go to the doctor and stop taking the medicine?

Such a side effect of pram has not been observed and is given in the drug documentation. However, it cannot be completely ruled out that numbness of the hand is associated with taking Pram, as not all side effects, especially those that occur very rarely, are described in the leaflet. It can also be an individual reaction to a particular drug. For this reason, it is so important to report such side effects - to the doctor, as well as individually, and how to do this we have described here: https://www.gdziepolek.pl/artykuly/jak-i-dlaczego-zglaszac-dzialania-niepozadane It is not recommended to stop taking medications yourself, especially antidepressants: https://www.gdziepolek.pl/artykuly/czy-jak-i-kiedy-mozna-odstawic-leki
