The use of antibiotic and contraceptive pills - how to proceed?

Good morning, I take triquilar contraceptive pills. Today I took the 18th blister pill. Unfortunately, I have bronchitis and the doctor prescribed me Zinnat. I know that antibiotics reduce the effectiveness of pills. I have to take the antibiotic for 5 days. Is it enough if I use additional protection during a 7-day break and after starting a new package I can already rely on pills? Thank you in advance for your help.

Yes, after you start taking the pills from the new blister, the use of an additional method of contraception is not required. The effectiveness of contraception will be preserved. More about what drugs weaken the effectiveness of contraception can be read in the text: https://www.gdziepolek.pl/artykuly/jakie-leki-oslabiaja-skutecznosc-antykoncepcji
