For @wiesia: There are no medicinal products containing bitter melon extract available on the Polish market. However, there are preparations registered as dietary supplements, i.e. products whose task is not to treat, but to supplement nutritional deficiencies. Therefore, they should not be used for medicinal purposes. Researchers in Australia have isolated 4 substances from bitter melon that have the potential to fight type II diabetes, suggesting that the plant has the potential to be used as a medicine in the future. As of today, these data are not available, so it is not possible to determine whether its use with other drugs is safe.

If the use of Metformax alone does not bring adequate results, supplementation with a preparation based on bitter melon can be added. Nevertheless, bitter melon has a hypoglycemic effect, that is, it also lowers sugar levels, which can lead to hypoglycemia (hypoglycemia). Therefore, caution should be exercised. If disturbing symptoms are observed, e.g. trembling of the arms and legs, palpitations, hyperhidrosis, anxiety - melon supplementation should be discontinued.
