You may lose weight while taking Topamax. This side effect may affect more than 1 in 10 people. In contrast, less than 1 in 10 people may experience weight gain as a side effect. Topamax is an antiepileptic drug, and weight changes may or may not occur. It is recommended that body weight be monitored regularly during treatment with Topamax.
