The Kyleena insole has no effect on estrogen production. It increases the concentration of levonorgestrel in the endometrium, which reduces the amount of estrogen and progesterone receptors. Therefore, estradiol (biologically active estrogen) may be less likely to bind to the endometrium, which becomes relatively insensitive to it.
