After discontinuation of contraception, in many patients regular bleeding immediately returns, and in some cases delays or longer bleeding are possible for some time - until the body adapts to the new situation. On the other hand, as regards Xarelto, bleeding from the mucous membranes (e.g. bleeding from the nose, gums, gastrointestinal tract, genitourinary) and anaemia were more common in clinical trials during long-term treatment with rivaroxaban (a substance contained in Xarelto) compared to other treatments for thrombosis. Therefore, it is worth observing the situation and in case of prolonged, intensified bleeding and worse well-being - contact a doctor.
