Hello. Is it safe to use monural 3g prophylactically every 10 days for half a year? What side effects can there be? Is furagin safer? What's the difference?

Monural is a prescription drug and contains fosfomycin, an antibiotic that works by killing bacteria that can cause infections. Sometimes there is a need for prophylactic administration of an antibiotic, but such a situation is decided by the doctor prescribing the drug. Using the drug without a reason and clear indications of the doctor may do more harm than help. However, if there is such a need, then it can be considered safer than no treatment. Possible common side effects include diarrhea, headaches, nausea, female genital infection manifested by inflammation, irritation, itching. Furagin (furazidine) is a chemotherapeutic agent with antibacterial activity, used in the treatment and prevention of acute and chronic lower urinary tract infections. It is a drug available without a prescription. I leave a link to the text that may interest you: https://www.gdziepolek.pl/artykuly/zakazenie-drog-moczowych
