Was it not too late to give Hydroxyzinum syrup half an hour before the test?
My daughter 4.5 years old has a fear of taking blood for nothing in the world does not want to enter the office for the collection we tried by force but it was useless to start biting the nurse doctor recommended us 5 ml of hydroxizinum syrup half an hour before the collection but it did not work or is it possible that the drug was given too late and did not work?

Hydroxyzine is well absorbed from the gastrointestinal tract and after oral administration the effect occurs within 15-30 minutes. Administration half an hour before collection was therefore the right time to use the drug. A dose of 5 ml of syrup also seems appropriate for a child of 4.5 years of age.
